Course Description
FIVE ELEMENT ACUPRESSURE 1
This 4 day course is a comprehensive foundation training which will allow the practitioner to begin immediately to practise acupressure, either as a stand alone modality or fully integrated into an existing bodywork practice. The course includes principles of Chinese medicine; five step head neck and shoulders release; low back and pelvis release; acupressure power points for symptomatic treatment; points on all 12 organ meridians and central vessels; the importance of source points; principles of point combining; introduction to diagnostic acupressure and assessing elements out of balance; guided point location and frequent supervised practice. Attendees of this course will learn an energy modality that gets results while being easy on the practitioner’s body.
FIVE ELEMENT ACUPRESSURE 2
This 4 day course builds on level 1 to facilitate greater understanding of acupressure through extending the range of acupoints, deepening knowledge of the Five Element cycles and discovering the fundamental causes of imbalances in the body. The course includes review of all points learned in level 1; extended head neck and shoulders release, extended low back and pelvis release; the shu points of the back and the mu points of the front of the body; combining mu, shu and source points in powerful treatment combinations; refinement of point locations; introduction to pulse taking; identifying excess and deficiency among the Five Elements; and deepening understanding of diagnostic acupressure. Attendees of this course will gain a thorough grounding in Five Element Acupressure and will be able to treat the energetic body with confidence.
FIVE ELEMENT ACUPRESSURE 3
This 4 day course builds on levels 1 and 2 and takes the student to a much deeper level of diagnosis and clinical practice. The major body of study at this level is Constitutional Diagnosis which allows the client to be treated at their energetic core by identifying the Constitutional Element. Other work includes deeper examination of the pulse and energy transfers, entry-exit blocks to treatment, connecting points, Windows of the Sky points, working with emotion in the treatment room, and treating at the level of spirit. Attendees of this course will gain a level of skill that will allow for more profound and lasting changes in the client’s energetic system and overall health.
