Massage & Myotherapy Australia is a brand of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists Limited (AAMT). Formed in 2003 as the leading not-for-profit Association for massage, remedial massage and myotherapy, spanning Australia nationwide with a membership of over 8,600 professionally qualified practitioners.

Our commitment is to uphold, promote and ensure the highest quality of standards in the field of massage, remedial massage and myotherapy. The Association serves as a valuable resource for both professional practitioners, Allied Health providers and the general public.

We hold a strong commitment to protecting the public and serving members that has led the Association and its membership to high levels of recognition in the industry and health sector.

SERVING OUR MEMBERS

Massage & Myotherapy Australia advocates’ high standards of ethical and professional practice and has a robust self-regulatory governance framework. We work in collaboration with key health stakeholders to seek continual improvement in service and practice.

We consider individual practitioners for membership subject to formal qualifications, both vocational (VET) and Higher Education (HE) that are defined by the Australian National Training Quality Framework and supported by the Health Training Package.

Massage & Myotherapy Australia certifies and audits therapists for the benefit of consumers, health fund providers, and employers.

SERVING THE PUBLIC

To ensure the public receives the best quality of treatment and care, Massage & Myotherapy Australia provides a free online referral service to the public.

Massage & Myotherapy Australia members can be found online on the Australian Massage Directory.

Massage & Myotherapy Australia also responds to complaints about therapists and works in collaboration with Health Care Commissions across Australian States and Territories. Complaint information can be found here.
