Market Access

Health Fund Provider Status

Private Health Funds may accept Massage & Myotherapy Australia members as Providers to enable their clients’ access to rebates.

This depends on the membership category and qualifications. Depending on the Individual Health Fund, the Association has a varied administrative role.

Australian Massage Directory

All Members receive a free listing on the online directory exclusively featuring Massage & Myotherapy Australia therapists, with the potential to expand directory listing.

Included in national advertising and promotional campaigns, the Australian Massage Directory, augmenting your own local marketing communications activities.

Workcover Provider Status

Remedial Massage and Myotherapists are eligible to register with WorkCover Authorities as a provider in some States and Territories.

Advocacy

Massage & Myotherapy Australia strives to advance the profile and recognition of members with Governments at Federal, State and Territorial levels and to liaise with Health Insurance Funds.

Our goal is to help grow the sector, by improving the regulatory and policy environment for the benefit on Members and professional massage therapists, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists.

Certification 

Massage & Myotherapy Australia Certification Program which is under development provides a universal, formal roadmap for the massage and myotherapy profession by describing the competencies, skills, qualifications and professional pathways for therapists and myotherapists.

It will support the growth of the profession through quality assurance and provide the public to make an informed choice.

Insurance

Massage & Myotherapy Australia members obtain premium Combined Malpractice, Public and Products Liability Insurance at a significantly reduced rate because of a negotiated agreement with our preferred provider of insurance, Aon Risk Services Australia Limited.
The Association does not support aggregate policies where your risk is shared with other therapists. Each Insurance Policy is designed for the individual policy holder.
