Victoria Update on Melbourne Metropolitan Restrictions

Update: The Department of Health and Human Services Victoria website has now clarified on their website which services are restricted during the metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire lockdown. Under the question 'Which personal services are closed?' the update specifically states that 'Therapeutic or remedial massage can continue.' This update can be found here.

Beginning at 11.59pm on 8 July, new restrictions have been announced for the Melbourne metropolitan area. For more information on this announcement, including a list of which suburbs have been affected, click here.

The affected suburbs are returning to Stage 3 restrictions. Under Stage 3, therapeutic massage, remedial massage and myotherapy have been exempted from the list of restricted services. More information regarding the status of therapeutic massage, remedial massage and myotherapy under Stage 3 can be found on the Department of Health Victoria website here and here.

The Association will continue to monitor the situation and notify members if there are any changes. As always, treating clients at this time is a personal choice and should be based on individual risk assessment.
