Description:

This workshop is designed for massage therapists and myotherapists who want a more practical, clinically relevant approach to pain-informed care. Bringing together contemporary pain science, communication and clinical application, it will explore how biological, psychological and social factors influence a person’s pain experience and recovery. Participants will learn how to listen more effectively to the client’s story, recognise key pain-related narratives and behaviours, and adapt treatment strategies to suit different pain presentations. Through case discussion, practical application and hands-on learning, the workshop will cover person-centred assessment, treatment modification, corrective exercise and self-management strategies that support function, confidence and better clinical outcomes. The aim is to help therapists translate pain concepts into meaningful skills they can apply immediately in practice.
