| Awake Academy: Know yourself, grow yourself and live a happier, more purposeful life
Are you feeling tired, lost or in need of a boost?
Are you ready to feel more centred, connected and confident?
This book will enable you to unlock your internal GPS. It’s your complete toolkit to overhaul your mindset and radically transform your life.
Layne Beachley, one of the world’s most successful surfers, and Tess Brouwer, once Virgin Australia’s Head of Partnerships, met while both were at the top of their game. Then, their lives took a radical turn. Layne was burnt out and overwhelmed, feeling lost and lacking purpose following her 19-year professional surfing career. On the other side of the world, an accident left Tess in need of two spinal operations, facing seven months in and out of hospital with no guarantees of what life would look like on the other side. They both needed a toolkit to rebuild their lives.
Together, Tess and Layne went on to create Awake Academy, delivering world-class transformational programs to people and businesses globally. December 11, 2024 at 12PM AEDT.

New HALO Modules
Have you checked out the Health and Learning Online (HALO) modules that have been added in 2024? We have added four exciting modules this year, including:
Update on NDIS Changes: Implications for Remedial Massage Therapists and Myotherapists
Following our communication to members on 25 October 2024, Massage & Myotherapy Australia met with the General Manager of the Providers Division at the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to clarify the Supports rules regarding changes to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The NDIA confirmed that while massage therapy is funded under the scheme, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists are not defined as NDIS supports and, therefore, are not eligible for funding. This means that while massage therapy can be claimed under the NDIS, the treatment must be provided by an allied health practitioner (e.g., a physiotherapist). Consequently, the previous process of a remedial massage therapist or myotherapist being employed by an allied health practitioner and covered under a support plan is no longer applicable. For more information, please refer to the email sent on Tuesday 26 November 2024.
