Thoracic back pain can occur as a result of trauma or sudden injury, or it can occur through strain or poor posture over time. The most common cause of thoracic back pain appears to originate from muscular irritation or other soft tissue problems. These can arise from lack of strength, poor posture, prolonged sitting at a computer, using a backpack, overuse injuries (such as repetitive motion), or trauma (such as a whiplash injury caused by a car accident or as a result of a sports injury).

Presenter, Rob Orr (Victoria University) will discuss causes of Thoracic pain, as well as ways in which we, as Soft tissue therapists can have a positive impact on alleviating pain by various treatment options. In addition to treatment, Rob will also discuss lifestyle changes for the client which may assist, along with samples of corrective exercises and stretches for the client during the technical demonstration segment of the webcast.
