About the Trainers and Assessors – Remedial Massage Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic, energetic and suitably qualified Trainers and Assessors in Remedial Massage to join our VET Team on a sessional basis at our Perth campus. 

Reporting to the National Program Manager, you will provide teaching, assessment and learning of the highest standard to students through the delivery of quality and consistent program materials according to national curriculum and consistent with national standards whilst satisfying students learning needs and preparing them to become high-quality future practitioners.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and online lectures, using innovative, flexible and stimulating course material for students undertaking VET coursework programs
  • Create an environment conducive to student-centred learning through positive interaction with students
  • Involved in student consultation
  • Stay abreast of academic, professional and industrial developments in the massage industry, and maintain and develop academic, professional and industrial contacts
  • Contribute to course development and assessment material as required
  • Recommend changes where appropriate regarding assessments

About you

You’re knowledgeable, self-motivated and passionate about Remedial Massage and providing the best possible learning experience for students. Also having the following will see you well placed for success:

  • HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage or a previous qualification with appropriate industry experience
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or the TAE40110 with the inclusion of the TAELLN411 and TAEASS502 (or equivalent)
  • Hold practicing membership of an Australian professional body that represents massage therapists
  • Fulfil the continuing professional development requirements of the professional body to which you belong
  • Current clinical experience working as a massage therapist
  • Effective presentation of massage therapies to students in competency-based courses
  • Provision of massage and general advice appropriate to the specific needs of general clients and in accordance with best practice industry standards
  • Proven ability to deliver quality training, coordinate programs and manage staff
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with senior colleagues, academic staff, students and the general public
  • Strong customer service skills with an ability to effectively sell products and services
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs

About the Sessional Academic – Myotherapy Role

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced and enthusiastic Sessional Academics in Myotherapy to join our dedicated and thriving team in Perth.

As an integral member of the Academic Team, you will provide teaching and learning of the highest standard to Endeavour students delivering high quality and consistent program materials according to national curriculum standards whilst motivating, supporting and engaging students and meeting their learning needs to produce high quality future professionals.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, and clinical sessions using innovative, flexible and stimulating course material for higher education students
  • Create an environment conducive to student-centred learning through positive interaction with students
  • Act as the first point of contact and liaison for student academic queries
  • Provide regular feedback to students to ensure progress towards subject outcomes
  • Marking and review of assessment materials

About you

We are especially interested to hear from applicants who have experience and post-graduate qualifications in exercise science, rehabilitation, manual therapy, clinical supervision of manual therapists, and assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, as well as those with a strong clinical background.

You will have:

  • A Bachelor degree in Myotherapy, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Exercise Physiology or a related discipline
  • Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant field or Higher Education (or current enrolment in a relevant post graduate qualification)
  • Minimum five years of clinical experience if no teaching experience
  • Experience in tertiary level teaching highly desirable
  • Professional association membership

There is flexibility in working hours within our college class timetable. The hourly pay rates are based on your qualifications and experience. As a Sessional Academic, you will receive leave entitlements and lecture delivery attracts paid associated time.
