NSW update - Allied health treatment request transition period ending

The NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) wishes to advise members that transition period to allow requests using either the Allied Health Recovery Request or the Allied Health Treatment Request (AHTR) has ended.

From 17 February 2025, the AHTR will be the only accepted form for requesting approval from insurers.

Completing the AHTR form is mandatory for SIRA approved allied health practitioners because it is a condition of approval to deliver services in the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme.

It is optional for non-SIRA approved allied health practitioners, however completing the form is highly encouraged.
