Safety and Solicitation - Power Dynamics and Gaslighting module now on HALO

Massage & Myotherapy Australia has collaborated with Priscilla Fleming, a qualified massage therapist from the United States who is also the author of two books: ‘A Bodyworker’s Guide to Soft Tissue and Pain Patterns’ and ‘A Bodyworker's Guide to Safety & Solicitation.’

In this course, we delve into power dynamics and gaslighting, specifically examining how societal norms and language can influence the balance of power within therapeutic relationships. The course aims to heighten awareness of gaslighting behaviours, thereby enhancing the therapeutic process and safeguarding against potentially risky situations in clinic settings. Participants will gain essential skills for screening new clients, identifying warning signs of inappropriate behaviours, professionally managing service refusals, and terminating client relationships when necessary. This course serves as a crucial introduction to topics aimed at raising awareness and improving safety in clinical practice.
