Victoria roadmap to reopening / Geelong, Surf Coast and Mitchell Shire Government areas entering lockdown

The Victorian Government has unveiled their roadmap to reopening for both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. To learn more about the roadmap click here.

The Association is currently seeking clarity from the Department of Health and Human Services regarding where therapeutic massage, remedial massage and myotherapy fit in the roadmap and when members can expect to start treating clients again. We will update members as soon as more information is available.

Geelong, Surf Coast and Mitchell Shire to enter lockdown

The Victorian Government also announced today that the City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast and Mitchell Shire Government areas will reenter lockdown tonight Sunday 19 September at 11.59pm AEST until at least Sunday 26 September at 11.59pm AEST, due to a concerning rise in COVID-19 case numbers. The City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast and Mitchell Shire Government will have the same restrictions in place as metropolitan Melbourne except for the curfew. For more information click here.

During the lockdown, only authorised health services will be permitted to continue treating. Massage therapy, remedial massage therapy and myotherapy are not listed as authorised health services that are permitted to treat during the lockdown.
