Victorian restrictions easing from tomorrow at midnight
The Victorian Government has announced that the current restrictions are set to ease from Thursday 10 June at 11.59pm. More information about today's announcements can be found here and an updated table of restrictions can be found here. More detailed information about how these changes affect members can be found below.
Metropolitan Melbourne
From 11.59pm tomorrow, Thursday 10 June, massage therapists, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists in metropolitan Melbourne will be permitted to resume treating clients. Face masks must be worn by therapists and clients at all times.
It is the Association's understanding that treating out of a home-based clinic will be permitted with no additional restrictions. Mobile massage services will also be permitted.
Regional Victoria
Regional Victorian therapists are still permitted to treat clients. Face masks must continue to be worn by therapists and clients at all times. Clients from metropolitan Melbourne will still not be able to travel to regional Victoria but restrictions indicate that therapists do not have to check client IDs.
QR Codes Update
The Government flagged in their announcements today that QR Codes will be made mandatory for more industries. At this time, it is recommended but not required by the State Government for Victorian massage therapy clinics to implement the Victorian Government QR Code Service. Since 28 May, the Victorian Government QR Code Service, which is free for all Victorian businesses, has been the only accepted QR code service in Victoria. We will notify members as soon as possible if the QR Code Service becomes mandatory for therapists.
Massage & Myotherapy Australia will continue to monitor the situation and notify members of any changes to directions.
