QLD Brisbane Lockdown Update

From 6pm today, the Queensland Government is introducing new, temporary restrictions to the Greater Brisbane area that comprises of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan. These restrictions are currently due to lift on 11 January at 6pm and are in direct response to a confirmed case of the UK strain of COVID-19 that is believed to be 70% more infectious than the regular strain. In answer to a question that specifically refers to remedial massage, the Queensland Health website states, 'Essential services, including medical appointments, can continue during lockdown. However, we’d strongly encourage any non-urgent appointments that can wait until after the lockdown period to be postponed.' For more information, click here.

Therapeutic massage, remedial massage and myotherapy have not been named in the list of businesses that must close but it is strongly recommended that non-urgent treatments be postponed until the lockdown is over. Masks are required to be worn by all, including therapists, clients and staff, while the lockdown is in place.
