South Australian Massage Therapists Can Return to Work Sunday

In an almost best case scenario, the South Australian Premier announced today that the South Australia lockdown is set to end at midnight Saturday, three days earlier than planned! This means that therapeutic massage therapists, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists will be allowed to resume face-to-face routine services from 12.01am on Sunday 22 November.

Please note the following important points:

  • It is our understanding that therapists will be required to wear a mask when they resume treating.
  • For clients, mask wearing will be optional but encouraged.
  • There will be an indoor density quotient of one person per every 4 square meters.
  • Gyms will be allowed to open on Sunday as well, meaning that therapists working at clinics located within gyms will also be able to resume practice from 12.01am on Sunday 22 November.

Massage & Myotherapy Australia will continue to monitor the situation and notify members of any changes to directions.
