Western Australia Roadmap to Easing Restrictions Update
On Saturday 6 June, Western Australia is set to ease COVID-19 restrictions to Phase 3 of their four-phase recovery roadmap. As part of Phase 3, the following is stated under Wellbeing and health services, '... massage may reopen (100/300 rule)'. [More information on the 100/300 rule can be found here.]
The Association interprets this as confirming that all massage services will be able to resume in Western Australia from 6 June so long as proper hygiene and infection control is being maintained and relevant physical distancing requirements are adhered to. This includes previously restricted services such as Certificate IV qualified therapeutic massage.
This information can be found on the COVID-19 coronavirus: WA Roadmap page on the Western Australia Government website.
The Association also reminds members who continue to treat to always maintain vigilant hygiene and infection control. For more information, see our video with Dr Norman Swan.
If you have not already completed it, the Association also recommends the COVID-19 Infection Control Training module provided by the Department of Health. Members who complete this course can claim 5 CPE points.
