SA Update on Cloth Masks

SA Health have updated their advice on mask wearing. It is now acceptable for massage therapists, clients, staff etc., to wear reusable cloth masks instead of single-use surgical masks.

Updates to Certificate IV in Massage Therapy and the Diploma of Remedial Massage

The Association have been advised by SkillsIQ, under the direction of the Complementary Health Industry Reference Committee and the Massage Therapy Technical Advisory Committee, is undertaking a project to update the existing Certificate IV in Massage Therapy, the Diploma of Remedial Massage, eight existing Units of Competency and two new Units of Competency, to ensure that workers in the sector have access to relevant skills and knowledge in order to meet the current and future needs of the Australian Complementary Health sector.

South Australia Update on Single-use Surgical Masks

The Association has now received clarity that massage therapists, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists are included in the directive that requires all people in health care settings to wear a single-use surgical mask at all times when in the physical presence of other people on the premises.
