Massage & Myotherapy Australia have a team of staff at our Melbourne office that are here to help our members with your questions, queries or concerns. You can call the office between 9am and 4.45pm AEST Mondays to Fridays to speak with a real person or email us at info@massagemyotherapy.com.au and a friendly member of staff will respond as soon as possible.


2. Administration of Private Health Fund provider numbers 
As a member, you benefit from the administration of Private Health Fund provider numbers on your behalf, with no additional charges for changing addresses or adding new clinics.


3. Certification Program
The Certification Program is Australia's only quality assurance program for massage therapists, remedial massage therapists, and myotherapists and is an initiative by the Association to assist in furthering the industry’s standing in the health care sector. The Certification Program is currently under review and we are planning to relaunch it better than ever later this year.


4. Partnership with Aon
Enjoy discounted insurance through our insurance partner Aon, providing comprehensive coverage tailored to the specific needs of massage therapists. Available to all Massage & Myotherapy Australia members (including Student Members).


5. Stable fees, no surprises
The Association have only raised our fees four times in the last 21 years, including only once in the last five years.

Stay informed with our quarterly print journal, Massage & Myotherapy Journal, delivering insightful articles and research to enhance your practice.


7. Massage & Myotherapy Connect
Massage & Myotherapy Australia's monthly broadcast show Connect provides therapists in the industry with Association news, tips, techniques and special opportunities to assist you in improving and developing your skills as a therapist in this busy industry! Episodes are viewable on Facebook, YouTube and the Association website.

10. Australian Massage Directory listings
Gain visibility with free listings on the Australian Massage Directory (AMD), the largest directory of massage therapists, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists in the country.


11. Government advocacy on your behalf to further the industry
Massage & Myotherapy Australia is a recognised voice by various government departments, ministers and advisers, regularly receiving invitations to make submissions with a view to improve standing as recognised health profession and the public image as healthcare professionals.


12. Research funding
Massage & Myotherapy Australia contributes to the Australian Research Consortium in Complementary and Integrative Medicine (ARCCIM). Ongoing research is required to provide the evidence and quality assurance benchmarks for strong self- and co-regulation and health policymaking specific to the massage profession.


13. Public awareness campaigns
Massage & Myotherapy Australia continually runs online advertising campaigns to educate the public and other healthcare professionals along with providing resources for members to educate their clients and their community. We are currently running our ‘Life is full of big days. How can massage help?’ campaign to the public and our Massage Therapy Knowledge Centre campaign to GPs and allied health professionals, educating them on the benefits of massage therapy.


14. Events
Massage & Myotherapy Australia manage a full events calendar including workshops, webinars, regional meetings and wet labs. We also host the annual National Conference and you can look forward to more information later this year on our upcoming 2024 Virtual Symposium.


15. Health and Learning Online (HALO)
Members have access to our full library of free and discounted HALO (Health and Learning Online) modules. We frequently add new modules to the service so be sure to regularly check the full list on the Massage & Myotherapy Australia website.


16. Endorsed Education Activities Program (EEAP)
In addition to the Association’s own CPE events and services, it also vets external CPE providers as part of the Endorsed Education Activities Program (EEAPs). A full list of EEAPs can be found on the Massage & Myotherapy Australia website.


17. United Associations collaboration
Massage & Myotherapy Australia regularly meet with the other members of the United Associations: Australian Natural Therapy Association (ANTA), Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (ATMS), Massage Association of Australia (MAA) and Myotherapy Association (MA). These meetings discuss big picture issues facing the industry and how the United Associations can work together to better the industry as a whole.


18. Practice guidelines, position statements and clinic templates
Access practice guidelines, position statements and clinic templates on the Massage & Myotherapy Australia website, facilitating industry knowledge as well as compliance and efficiency in your practice operations. The Association regularly updates these documents.


19. Partnership with My Appointments™
Take advantage of extra benefits when you sign up to the My Appointments™ platform. My Appointments™ is an initiative by the complementary medicines sector and is a purpose-built platform by natural healthcare providers for natural healthcare providers.


20. Partnership with Your Leasing Co.
Take advantage of Massage & Myotherapy Australia’s partnership with Your Leasing Co., which gives members exclusive access to their free lease review service. Their team of expert lease negotiators will review your current lease and provide personalised recommendations to help you optimise your bottom line.


21. Memberships with other associations
Massage & Myotherapy Australia are members of various associations to stay abreast of issues that may affect members such as government policy/legislative changes, health care changes, or changes in the education sector. Membership is held with the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA), Allied Health Professions Association (AHPA), Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA) and Associations Forum, to name a few.


22. Ambassador Program
Engage with ambassadors who work closely with Massage & Myotherapy Australia to facilitate events, liaise with members regarding best practice, support regional members of the Association through regional group meetings and mentor members who are new to the industry.


23. Committee and directorship pathways
The Association offers a number of committee and directorship pathways, giving members the chance to contribute to governance, events and strategic direction. Committees include: Executive; Audit and Risk; National Education; Conference; and Ethics.


24. Scholarships and awards
The Association has curated a robust scholarship program, including: National sporting organisation scholarships; regional and remote scholarships; the Mentoring Program in Honour of Athol Robinson; Life Member Award; and two Conference scholarships.

When the Association has reviewed your application, you will be asked to make payment. You are now a member and the process of forwarding your details to the private health funds will begin.
