Branding for Massage Therapists
The video explores the challenges and rewards of establishing a massage service in a major medical institution from inception to integration, and the challenges and rewards of the hands-on work itself.
In 2012 the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre (ONJCWC) at Austin Health in Melbourne opened its Wellness Centre with the aim that patients would have access to a range of complementary therapies as an integrated part of their clinical cancer care. There was a demand for a massage service from patients, and the growing evidence base for oncology massage therapy influenced the Centre in selecting this discipline as their first complementary therapy. Considerable groundwork had to be undertaken to enable the smooth introduction of massage into a clinical environment.
