This online module explores the biomechanics and clinical significance of thoracic facet joints. These joints open during spinal flexion and close during extension, with asymmetrical movement occurring during side-bending and rotation. The joint capsules of the intervertebral facets are highly innervated, containing a large number of mechanoreceptors and nociceptors. Understanding the interaction of these specialised nerve endings is essential for improving spinal function and managing thoracic back pain.

Through a series of video demonstrations and interactive quizzes, this presentation outlines key assessment and treatment techniques aimed at treating multifidus, restoring facet joint mobility, and alleviating thoracic discomfort.
