Introduction to Oncology Massage is an evidence-informed learning module delivered in partnership with Oncology Massage Training Ltd (OMT), one of Australia’s leaders in oncology massage education for more than 20 years. Designed for massage and myotherapy professionals, it explores what oncology massage is, why it matters, and the key considerations when working with people living with cancer or undergoing treatment. You’ll hear from OMT educators and trained therapists, gain insight into real-world client considerations (physical, emotional and social), and learn core principles around communication, contraindications and clinic adjustments. The module also outlines clear pathways for further training, accreditation and professional development through OMT.

This module is designed as a theory-based introduction to the principles of oncology massage and does not constitute a formal qualification or practical skills training. Completion of this module does not indicate clinical competency to practise oncology massage with people affected by cancer. Therapists who wish to provide oncology massage or work with clients affected by cancer are encouraged to undertake accredited, face-to-face training through Oncology Massage Training Ltd (OMT) or another recognised education provider.
