Massage Reopening in Metropolitan Melbourne Tonight

Metro Melbourne is moving into the Third Step!

The Association is extremely excited to announce that confirmation has been received from the Chief Allied Health Officer confirming massage therapists, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists can return to routine practice as of 11.59pm this evening, Tuesday 27 October 2020.

This long-awaited announcement for our members and the industry is something we have been fighting for, and we are delighted that our members can return to their work in providing care to our Melbourne community. However, members are reminded that you must have a COVIDSafe plan in place, this includes both the therapist and client wearing a mask at all times (more information about COVIDSafe Plans can be found below).

On behalf of the staff and the Board of Directors I would like to thank you, our members, for your patience and support whilst we traversed our way through the myriad of confusing announcements to obtain clarity and facts to keep you informed. We also thank the Chief Allied Health Officer and her colleagues for their continued support.

Ann Davey,
CEO
Massage & Myotherapy Australia

COVIDSafe Plan

If you have not already done so, please ensure that you have completed a COVIDSafe Plan. Please note that you are not required to submit your COVIDSafe Plan to anyone but may be required to present it to appropriate authorities upon request. Instructions on how to complete a COVIDSafe Plan can be found here.

Dark Opening

As noted in our update yesterday, the Premier announced that there is currently a 'dark opening' in place, meaning that staff required to make the business COVID safe and ready for trading are allowed to attend the work place immediately to prepare for work to be able to begin midnight tonight.
