Perth, Peel and South West Lockdown Update

At 6pm on Sunday 31 January, the Western Australian Government introduced new, temporary restrictions to Perth, Peel and South West. These restrictions are currently due to lift on Friday, 5 February 2021 at 6pm AWST. For more information about this five-day lockdown, click here.

Therapeutic massage, remedial massage and myotherapy have not been named in the list of businesses that have been exempted from closure. It is our understanding at this time that therapeutic massage therapists, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists will not be able to practice routine services for the next five days while this lockdown is in place. The current directions state face to face treatments are only to be provided in the instance of emergency clinical care for potentially life-threatening situations.

At the end of this article is a table of support services that can be accessed by anyone who is experiencing financial issues, anxiety, stress or depression. Massage & Myotherapy Australia will continue to monitor the situation and notify members if there are any changes to these directions.
